Joining forces against cancer
As an outcome of a longstanding collaboration with the Helmholtz Centre for Heavy Ion Research in Darmstadt, promising results for the treatment of radioresistant tumors have been published. TRON scientists have joint forces to combine their expertises in heavy ion radiotherapy and mRNA cancer vaccines. The recent study investigated the effect of personalized liposome-formulated mRNA vaccines in combination with conventional X-ray radiotherapy in preclinical colon carcinoma models.
