Visit by Prof. Renata Stripecke from University Hospital Cologne
We are looking forward to the visit of Prof. Renata Stripecke from the Institute of Translational Immune-Oncology at the Cancer Research Center Cologne Essen which is located at the University Hospital Cologne on May 15th, 2025.
Renata’s translational focus is the immune-cell reprogramming for the treatment of cancers associated with infections. Her laboratory hereby develops chimeric antigen receptor (CAR)-T cells targeting viral or cellular proteins expressed on the surface of infected cancer cells. One example is gp350CAR-T cells targeting the protein gp350 of Epstein Barr Virus (EBV) expressed on the surface of nasopharyngeal carcinomas and lymphomas, that are now in phase II clinical trials (BioSyngen Lpt Ltd, Singapore). Currently, the Stripecke Lab is also developing CRISPR/Cas9 multivalent editing approaches for more potent and combinatorial CAR-T cells against hematopoietic and solid tumors.
