Visit of the Swiss Ambassador Livia Leu
The Swiss Ambassador Livia Leu visited TRON together with Consul General Dr. Jakob and the Mayor of Mainz, Nino Haase on September 30th. The visit focused on TRON’s scientific activities, the TRON 2030 strategy, and the institute’s continued development within Mainz’s biotechnology hub.
The guests were welcomed by our Managing Directors, Matthias Gaida and Michael Ludorf. At the beginning of the visit, they presented TRON’s research activities and strategic direction. They also provided insights into the institute’s importance for Mainz as a biotechnology hub and outlined the future perspectives associated with the goals of TRON until 2030.
During a subsequent tour of the laboratories, the guests gained insights into TRON’s research environment. The tour provided an opportunity to discuss TRON’s scientific activities as well as the infrastructure required for modern biomedical research.
Another item on the agenda was a visit to the new TRON research building currently under construction on the campus of the University Medical Center Mainz. The group walked to the construction site, where Nadja Orthen, Project Lead for the new TRON building, presented the current status of the project and explained its planning.
