DFG Grant for CARE CONNECT
Eliana Stanganello, head of TRON’s High Content Imaging & Cellular Dynamics unit, has received an Individual Research Grant from the German Research Foundation (DFG). The funded project, titled “Cancer Resistance to T cell mediated immunotherapy – Dissection of the intercellular connectivity mechanisms to overcome therapeutic resistance (CARE CONNECT),” will support a PhD student over a 36-month period.
CARE CONNECT focuses on the role of tunnelling nanotubes in facilitating communication between tumor cells. The project aims to uncover how these intercellular connectivity mechanisms contribute to cancer resistance, with the goal of identifying new strategies to enhance the effectiveness of immunotherapies.
The grant highlights the importance of exploring cellular dynamics in translational oncology and marks a significant step toward understanding and overcoming therapeutic resistance in cancer treatment.
