curATalk seminar series

Our next curATime speaker will be Prof. Nicola Ternette from the University of Dundee. Her talk about „Venturing into the unknown: How non-canonical open reading frames expand cancer immune visibility“ will be hosted by the curATime Cluster Spokesman Prof. Johnny Kim from TRON and will give us valuable insights about the consequences of interference with the antigen presentation machinery on MHC presentation.

Nicola Ternette is a Professor of Antigen Discovery at the University of Dundee, where she leads the Antigen Discovery Group within the School of Life Sciences. Next to focussing on the interference meachanisms with the antigen presentation machinery on MHC presentation, her team refines existing approaches to understand disease association with the HLA gene locus and are developing novel bioinformatics approaches to MS spectral interpretation for tumour-specific antigen discovery.

The curATalk will be held in a hybrid formate. Click here to join the virtual lecture in case you cannot attend in person.

curATime - Cluster for Atherothrombosis and Individualized Medicine - is our collaborative cluster for future which we initiated with the University Medical Center Mainz, the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI) and many more partners. The cluster is initially funded by the BMFTR for three years. Within curATime, we want to reduce the incidence and impact of cardiovascular diseases, which is the leading cause of death worldwide.
