curATalk seminar series

We are looking forward to our next curATalk, which will be hosted by the curATime PI Prof. Wolfram Ruf of the University Medical Center Mainz. Our guest speaker Dr. Craig Morrell from the Cardiovascular Research Institute at the University of Rochester, USA, will talk about “Platelets and Megakaryocytes at the Immune Interface.”

Dr. Craig Morrell’s research is focused on the interface of platelet and megakaryocyte function, vascular biology, infection/immunology, and tissue injury responses. He has pioneered the understanding how platelets and megakaryocytes regulate immune cell responses, including the induction of acute phase responses, innate immune cell activation and trafficking, and platelet regulation of T and B cell differentiation. His recent work has further elucidated the origin and functional roles of megakaryocytes in the lung in immune functions

The curATalk will be held in a hybrid formate. Click here to join the virtual lecture in case you cannot attend in person.

curATime - Cluster for Atherothrombosis and Individualized Medicine - is our collaborative cluster for future which we initiated with the University Medical Center Mainz, the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI) and many more partners. The cluster is initially funded by the BMFTR for three years. Within curATime, we want to reduce the incidence and impact of cardiovascular diseases, which is the leading cause of death worldwide.
