Small particles with dimensions of between 1 and 100 nanometers, composed of only a few thousand molecules (e.g. carbon compounds, metal oxides, polymers). Nanoparticles are widely used in technical, biological and medical applications (for example, as drug delivery systems).
next generation sequencing (NGS)
NGS is a technology for sequencing large numbers of different DNA or RNA molecules in the same test tube at the same time. Examples of its application include the profiling of global gene expression patterns in a given tissue or tumor. NGS is increasingly replacing microarray technology.

A molecule that consists of an organic base (nucleobase), and three phosphate groups. Nucleotides are incorporated “one-after-the-other” into DNA and RNA to form the sequence of DNA or RNA. Nucleotides are involved in metabolic processes as single molecules.
