“Assessment of proliferative activity in breast cancer as a basis for individualized treatment decisions”
Prof. Lehr is currently holding the position of Head of the Institute for Pathology at the Medizin Campus Bodensee in Friedrichshafen. Before that, he was Professor of Pathology at the Institut Universitaire de Pathologie, CHUV, Lausanne. He holds both national and international board certifications in pathology and is an active member of national and international societies of pathology and working groups concerning the legal and ethical aspects of biobanking.
Prof. Lehr is an expert in breast cancer pathology, with several high-impact publications in this field. He recently was part of a new publication in Nature Immunology on chronic intestinal inflammation. The findings suggest that the TH9 subset of helper T cells have an important role in driving ulcerative colitis by regulating intestinal epithelial cells. The authors conclude that TH9 cells represent a likely target for the treatment of chronic intestinal inflammation http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/24908389).
