Prof. Ugur Sahin

TRON – Translational Oncology Mainz

Ugur Sahin is the founder and Managing Director of Science and Research at TRON-Translational Oncology at the Medical Center of the Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz where he is working towards developing novel cancer vaccines and individualized cancer immunotherapies. His research focuses on the identification and characterization of new tumor antigens, the development of RNA-based cancer vaccines, and the development of RNA-based cancer vaccines.

 

About the Research Center for Immunology (FZI)

The Research Center for Immunology (FZI) combines the scientific expertise of different research areas of Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz, promotes the national and international exchange in immunologic research and educates young academics in the fields of clinical and fundamental research. It brings together scientists from the faculties of medicine, biology and chemistry of the Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz in the field of immunology. Based on a better understanding of immunological diseases, the FZI investigates the immunological principles of infections, autoimmune diseases, allergies and cancer.
